Barbershop In Trouble For Not Giving Haircuts To Women

WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) — Ask any client at Barbiere in Washington County and he’ll tell you the upscale gentleman’s barbershop offers more than just your typical haircut. From the rugged décor to the macho atmosphere, it’s a place where guys can unwind with a complimentary cocktail or enjoy a cold beer. “[I] come here, talk sports, guy talk. A great place to get away after a hard day’s work, get a haircut and have a beer,” said client Robert Craig. Now, the business is at the center of a heated debate after owner John Interval was fined $750 for refusing to cut a woman’s hair. She filed an action with the state’s Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs. That agency imposed the fine for gender discrimination after a state investigator visited the business and interviewed Interval. “I didn’t really consider it so much a discrimination thing as – it’s a barbershop… for guys,” Interval said. Interval says he wasn’t aware he was legally compelled to service both men and women. But he plans on paying the fine because he respects the law. He does not expect an upswing in female customers. “You know, I’m not opposed to doing women’s hair,” he explained. “Just not in this shop. I don’t even have [the equipment] to do women’s hair. I want to open a shop to cater to them and no men will be allowed there. They’ll have all the champagne and mimosas they want, and that’ll be on the house.”

Can we have nothing? Is there not one thing you women will let us have? Just go to your own fucking salons and leave the old fashioned barbershops to the men. I dont even understand why the fuck a chick would even want to get her hair cut at those places. Theres a reason why haircuts are like 12 bucks. Because its an old Italian man who’s half blind dicing your hair up with the clippers as fast as he possibly can. They give literally everyone the same haircut all day long no matter what is requested, and then do that thing with the double mirrors where they show you the back of your neck and act like they fucking killed it. Dont get me wrong I loved going to those type of places when I was younger. They hit you with the hot foam and the razor around the edges. That talcum powder in the green bottle that smells delicious as fuck. Grab a lollipop on your way out after dropping like 15 bucks, including tip. But eventually as you get older you realize youre getting a shitty haircut virtually every time and you gotta step up to like a high end place with a real hair stylist that can make you look good.

So if I, Kevin Clancy, realize I need to graduate from these type of barbershops, then there shouldnt be a woman alive who is down with them. Unless you’re like a big bull lesbian and want a buzz cut I cant imagine any female really trusting Benny The Barber who has one eye on the soccer game as he trims you up. Only thing I can imagine is that eventually some chicks just get FED UP with paying like 400 dollars for a haircut and they just want a cheap shape up. Otherwise, I cant see any reason why any chick would want to get their haircut there. Nothing but old men looking at pornos and bad haircuts.
